Our obituary of to-day contains intimation of the death of Mr. Wm. Mackintosh Sen., at the ripe age of 74yrs. A native of Cullen, Mr. Mackintosh came to Portessie about 62 years ago, and has carried on the business as a boatbuilder for the long period of 45 years. His boat models were held in high reputate. This, combined with the excellency of the material and workmanship which he supplied, secured for him an exceptionally large share of public patronage. Deceased was a leader amongst the Wesleyan Methodists, a Liberal in politics, and took an active interest in everything calculated to be for the moral, material, and spiritual welfare of the people. His well-known figure will be much missed in the community amongst whom he has lived so long and who held him in the highest esteem.
